Heritage Preparatory School Featured in the Neighbor Papers

Posted: August 20th, 2009

Neighbor reporter, Laura Braddick, was intrigued as she interviewed Head of School, Dr. Davies Owens, as well as parent, Robbie Jackson.  She started the article by saying, " When it comes to private education, the young Heritage Preparatory School in Morningside takes an old school approach."  Dr. Owens explained the classical curriculum and how students study the "classics" in all subjects and how this approach has withstood the test of time.  The story describes Heritage as unique in many areas - from admissions being primarily driven by word-of-mouth, the small student-teacher ratio,  the school's intentional steps toward fulfilling its mission, to the unique family-oriented, parent-involved community.  The article ended with Robbie Jackson explaining that she chose Heritage for her childrend because their family's values and beliefs were being reinforced at school.  She closes with saying, "It's been a great place for our family."
