I am delighted to join the faculty of Heritage Preparatory School!

My husband, Mike, and I recently relocated to Atlanta when he received a call to serve as the Minister of Educational Life at Northside Drive Baptist Church. We are thrilled to call Atlanta our home, and look forward to exploring and learning more about our new city.

I grew up in Southwest Florida and moved to Nashville, TN to attend Belmont University. After graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, I worked in several different capacities: substitute teaching in a public school, case managing senior adults in a United Way sponsored non-profit, and as a recreation coordinator at a United Methodist retirement community. After my husband graduated from Divinity School at Wake Forest University, we moved to Houston, TX. While in Houston, I served as a chaplain at Presbyterian School. In addition to my chaplaincy duties, I also choreographed and co-directed the annual eighth grade musical.

A fan of all things musical, I love singing, dancing, and going to the theatre. I have an affinity for Latin American culture and have studied Spanish for many years. I try to practice my language skills whenever possible. An active lifestyle is high on my personal priority list. Cooking healthy meals and practicing yoga helps me stay focused and grounded. Mike and I enjoy spending time together walking with our beagle, Gracie, as she hunts for lizards and bugs.

Cultivating a servant’s heart is my life’s work. I have been fortunate enough to serve on mission teams in the Bahamas, Jamaica, Brazil, Peru, and Guatemala, as well as on many domestic mission teams. I also enjoy volunteering in our church and am a provisional member of the Junior League of Atlanta. It is a privilege to serve our God by ministering to others, whose needs are many and great, and "to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."  (James 1:27)

My greatest hope for this year is that God would continue to teach me, and use me to teach others about His love and truth.
