Dorrie McKoy
Class 1B
I am so excited to be returning to Heritage this year. This year marks my second year at Heritage and my eighth year teaching. Switching to teach Class One is like coming home again. I taught First Grade for three years before I had my son, Alex. I have a passion for teaching reading and this age is such a joy to be a part of!
I grew up here in Atlanta and graduated from Woodward Academy. I enjoyed growing up in the South, but decided to see another part of the country for college. I graduated from Gordon College in Wenham, MA, with a B.S. in Elementary Ed. A year after graduating, I married my best friend and high school sweetheart, Herb. I taught Kindergarten and First Grade for 6 years before starting our family. In 2000, God blessed us with our son, Alex. He has joined the Heritage family this year and is in Class One. Having him in class next door to me is priceless.
God has greatly blessed me and my family through Heritage. Being a part of the families and staff has enriched me beyond measure. I look forward to all that this year will bring.
