Admissions Process

Our admissions process is as follows:

  • Submit the application, a recent photograph, a $100 nonrefundable application fee and a copy of the student's birth certificate. We are accepting applications for the 2010-2011 academic year. After receiving the completed application and required attachments, we will schedule your child for admission testing.
  • Attend Group Tour and Open House. Heritage invites you to visit the campus for a Group Tour and Open House.  See Key Dates for more information.
  • Observation and testing. All applicants to Grades 1-8 must take the Heritage admission test before being considered for admissions. Members of the Heritage admissions team administer the test, and the observations and results are submitted to the Admissions Committee. All Kindergarten applicants must participate in a readiness test and observation session before being accepted to Heritage. PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must test for Grade 1 if currently in a Kindergarten program and will turn six by September 1, 2010. If an applicant turns six between June 1, 2010, and August 31, 2010, placement may be considered for either Kindergarten or Grade 1.
  • Schedule and attend a parent interview. Based on eligibility and availability, the Principal will call to schedule this hour-long interview with the Head of School and admissions team.

Parents will be notified of admission decisions by mail on April 2, 2010. Decisions of the Admissions Committee are final.

The Admission Committee's decisions regarding placement are based on what is best for each child as they take into consideration the developmental needs of each child. Heritage reserves the right to deny admission to a student if his or her ability, behavior, or emotional development indicates that he or she could not be best served by our school program.

Heritage Preparatory School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the School. Heritage does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarships, loan programs, or other school-administered programs.

Heritage Preparatory School offers no scholarships.  Families may apply for need-based financial assistance through the third party organization FACTS.  This grant and aid assessment service assists families and schools in determining if a family does indeed qualify for financial aid.  You may apply at www.factstuitionaid.com. Please let Heritage know that you are interested in applying so we may provide more specific instructions.
