This is a faculty member who dedicates his life to abiding in Christ and finds his identity in Him, in triumph and in failure, on the hills and in the valleys. He possesses a genuine passion and delight in Christ, His church, and the work of His kingdom and seeks Him in the minutia and the grand, dwells in His Word, and prays without ceasing. He has been so impacted by the Gospel and God’s saving grace in his own life that he lives with a sense of awe, gratitude, devotion, and an eternal perspective.

This is a faculty member who pursues her students to know them fully and love them fully. She views her students as individuals being shaped in the image of Christ, with many unique facets that point to His glory. She views parents as having the primary responsibility for their children and partners with them to shepherd their hearts. She discerns how to protect and guide her students as they experience the world around them, walking alongside them in their personal journeys and taking seriously the influence and weight she bears in the formation of their souls. She disciplines with love and justice, holding students to a standard of Christ- like behavior, being quick to forgive and slow to anger.

While she challenges and supports her students to achieve excellence in every area they pursue, she does so with grace and emphasizes their character and identity in Christ over academic performance.

This is a faculty member who seeks to know fully and love fully his colleagues and team members as brothers and sisters in Christ, rejoicing when they rejoice and weeping when they weep. He commits himself to serving others intentionally and persistently. He practices integrity and humility, accepting critique and correction, recognizing the strengths of others, and looking for opportunities to respect and honor his colleagues’ disciplines, always rejoicing in their diverse sets of strengths and insights they bring to the team. He looks for the best in his coworkers. When required, he will confront others by pointing to God’s high calling while valuing unity and always seeking to be at peace with others.

This is a faculty member who affirms objective Truth, wonders at and rejoices in the beauty of God’s creation and the attractive nature of His call, and acknowledges the goodness of Christian morality. She models life- long learning through constant education in her subject matter and in the Word of God. She delights in learning and finds joy and meaning in teaching. She is an expert in her chosen subject matter and seeks to deepen her knowledge and understanding through continually asking questions and independent study.

This is a faculty member who views education not as the transfer of information but rather as the preparation of a mind to listen carefully, reason wisely, think precisely, and articulate persuasively. He views education as the nurturing of a heart to love the Lord, to serve His kingdom, and to engage culture faithfully, and as the development of a soul to live and think with truth, wisdom, and excellence. This is a faculty member who believes in the teaching of great books and primary sources by the Socratic method to cultivate a culture of inquiry. He teaches with a commitment to the Trivium (Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric Stages) and with the aim to raise up life-long learners and strong followers of Christ. He is committed to infuse the curriculum with the reality that our creator God stands behind all Truth and to explore the implications of the Gospel in every subject, while holding his students to the highest standards of academic rigor.

This is a faculty member who is actively engaged in the local church, acknowledging the important role of the church in her spiritual growth and development. She submits to the authority of the church and seeks out spiritual mentors and biblical wisdom as she engages culture faithfully.
