Faith Formation

Single Hero

Rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ, Heritage is a community where students and families are known, loved, and discipled. Relationships are intentional and grace-filled, creating a culture where faith is not an add-on, but the foundation of all we do. From curriculum to community life, the love and truth of Christ shape every aspect of the Heritage experience.

Our vision is to cultivate a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ in the heart of every student—empowering them to live out their faith with wisdom, courage, and compassion. Through a Christ-centered classical education, students are equipped to form a Gospel-shaped worldview, ready to faithfully follow Christ and engage a complex world with truth and grace.

Statement of Faith
The Heritage community—faculty, staff, and families—shares an orthodox Christian faith that forms the foundation for a unified and consistent experience. We strive for partnership between home and school, aligning our beliefs to ensure students are formed in an environment that reflects the truth and beauty of the Gospel.

Christ at the Center
We believe Jesus Christ is Lord over all of life, and the Bible is our ultimate authority. At Heritage, faith and learning are inseparable. Every subject, every conversation, and every relationship is shaped by the truth of God’s Word. Our desire is for students to see their education not as an end in itself, but as a way to glorify God and live out their calling in the world.

Forming Servant Leaders
We are committed to developing leaders who lead like Christ—with humility, wisdom, and a heart for service. As students grow, they are given meaningful opportunities to lead and mentor younger peers, preparing them to lead faithfully in every sphere—whether in the church, the workplace, or the mission field.

Gospel Worldview

At Heritage, every academic subject is taught through the lens of Scripture, guiding students to develop a biblical worldview rooted in truth. Through weekly Chapel services, rich classroom discussions, and a curriculum grounded in God’s Word, students are invited to explore their faith, ask meaningful questions, and grow in their understanding of who God is and how He calls them to live.

Family Devotions

We are deeply committed to partnering with parents in shepherding students’ hearts. One key expression of this is our monthly Family Devotions—a tool to nurture spiritual rhythms at home and reinforce classroom formation. Each plan includes daily Bible readings, encouraging families to gather for Scripture and prayer, with fathers leading when possible.

Mentorship

Inspired by the biblical model of Barnabas and Paul, Heritage fosters Christ-centered mentorship through programs like Barnabas Buddies and Bridges. At the core are our faculty—more than teachers, they serve as daily mentors, shaping both the hearts and minds of students for lives rooted in Christ.

Servant Leaders

We are committed to cultivating leaders who follow the example of Christ—leading with humility, wisdom, and a heart for service. Throughout their time at Heritage, students are given purposeful opportunities to serve locally, nationally, and globally, preparing them to lead with conviction and compassion in every sphere of life.

Partnering with Parents

At Heritage Preparatory School, we believe that education is a partnership between the school and the family. Rooted in our mission, we view parents as the primary disciplers and are honored to come alongside them in the formation of their child’s heart, mind, and character. Through workshops, blogs, and curated resources, we equip parents with practical tools and biblical wisdom for classical education, faith formation, and intentional parenting. Together, we are shaping a generation of students prepared to love the Lord, lead with integrity, and live with purpose.

Parents in Prayer

Moms in Prayer

Heritage is blessed to have its own Moms in Prayer group, now entering its seventh year on campus, which meets on a weekly basis throughout the school year. Our Moms in Prayer veterans can attest to the tremendous faith-building moments and depth of fellowship we experience as the Lord provides a front-row seat for us to see Him move mightily in the midst of our community!

Moms in Prayer is an international prayer ministry that started in the 80’s and is active in schools all over the U.S., and in over 162 countries worldwide. It is a way to gather once a week and pray strategically for our children, our school, faculty, staff, and the Board. There is an organized structure to the hour of prayer, using the ACTS model of praying (A for adoration, C for silent confession, T for thanksgiving, and S for supplication).  Meeting and going straight into prayer protects our time as we pray our prayer requests and our praises instead of talking about them, allowing us to spend a full hour in prayer every week!

Fathers Prayer

Heritage is blessed to offer a Fathers Prayer group, a monthly gathering that encourages dads to take an active role in the spiritual life of their families and our school community. This dedicated time for fellowship and prayer provides fathers with an opportunity to unite in lifting up their children, the school, and fellow families in prayer, while also strengthening their own faith.

As leaders in the home, fathers are called to set the spiritual tone for their families. Fathers Prayer offers a unique chance for dads to connect with one another, grow in their role as spiritual leaders, and pray intentionally for the needs of their children and the school community. Each gathering focuses on building fellowship, offering support, and empowering fathers to step into their God-given role as prayerful leaders in the lives of their families. Through these gatherings, fathers are encouraged to be bold in their prayers and steadfast in guiding their children with wisdom and love.

Parents in prayer is a clear Heritage distinctive, where we prioritize time together on Monday mornings to pray for God’s will and wisdom for our school, our families, and our relationships in the community. We have witnessed God answer our prayers in both transformational and tiny ways. It has been a thrill to see His provision on a grand scale with the high school, as well as in the daily spiritual growth of our children. What a privilege it is to be involved in His kingdom work through this weekly time of prayer!Heritage Parent

Face to Face Events

Heritage moms are invited to participate in Face to Face, an event held four times a year that provides an opportunity for moms to gather, connect, and share in prayer. Face to Face is considered a cornerstone of our school community, and here's why:

  • Fellowship: Our gatherings are a warm, welcoming space where everyone belongs.
  • Friendship: We cultivate and nurture friendships, reminding each other that we are, first and foremost, sisters united in Christ.
  • Focus: As we share our gratitude for God’s work in our lives, we naturally draw closer to Him, and in turn, to each other.

We firmly believe that sharing our stories of hope, encouragement, and the myriad ways God has touched our lives, transforms us for the better. Our shared experiences foster a sense of community, deepening our intimacy and unity as sisters in Christ.
