Mentorship
In Scripture, the relationship of Barnabas and Paul reveals the significance of investing in others. At Heritage, we honor this truth through intentional mentorship. Our beloved "Barnabas Buddies" program gives our Middle School and 6th-grade students the opportunity to mentor and befriend our 1st-grade, Kindergarten, and PreK students. This initiative allows older students to mentor and befriend their younger peers, embodying Christ’s love through patience and kindness. Throughout the year, these pairs will participate in play, worship, and learning activities together, fostering meaningful connections and growth.
Throughout their four years in high school, each high school student is paired with three mentors: a spiritual mentor, a professional mentor, and an alumni or young professional mentor. The goal of this program is to surround students with Christ-centered role models who embody what it means to live a life rooted in Jesus and to follow Him faithfully in every area of life.
Having a spiritual mentor at Heritage has been a tremendous blessing for our child. Knowing they had a trusted Heritage parent to walk alongside them, offer biblical wisdom, and pray for them made all the difference. It was invaluable to have a third party speak truth into their life, encourage their faith, and guide them through the challenges of high school. Heritage Upper School Parent
