At Heritage Preparatory School, we believe the purpose of education is not the mere transfer of information, but the:
Preparation of a mind to listen carefully, to reason wisely, to think precisely, and to articulate persuasively.
Nurturing of a heart to love the Lord their God, to serve His Kingdom, and to engage culture faithfully.
Development of a soul to live and to think with truth, wisdom, and excellence.
Heritage aims to develop lifelong habits and preserve the innocence of childhood in the lower school, introduce culturally relevant issues while preparing students to engage culture and defend their faith in middle school, and equip students in high school to be independent, articulate thinkers who can defend their beliefs and ideas in a compelling and winsome way.
Each stage of learning at Heritage is carefully designed to build upon the last, ensuring that students are prepared for the next steps in their educational journey, and beyond. Classical Christian education adapts its teaching method to the Trivium, a term used that describes the three developmental stages of learning.
• Grammar (grades PreK-5) Young children are especially adept at absorbing large amounts of information. We challenge them with learning foundational knowledge in all subjects from Bible to history to science and use instructional methods such as songs and chants to help students learn information. We support students in becoming strong, proficient readers in the earliest grades so that they are well prepared to read to learn for the remainder of their lives.
• Logic (grades 6 - 8) During the middle school years children begin to think independently and ask “Why?” Classical Christian education teaches children in this phase logical thinking and the art of reason and debate.
• Rhetoric (grades 9 - 12) Once a student has obtained a knowledge of the facts (grammar) and the skills necessary to arrange those facts into arguments (logic), he will develop the skills necessary to communicate effectively and persuasively to others.

At Heritage, I’ve learned to think critically and live intentionally. The classical education I’m receiving isn’t just about memorizing facts; it’s about understanding the world through a Christian lens and preparing to make a real impact. I feel challenged and supported, and I know the foundation I’m building here will shape everything I do in the future. Upper School Student Grade 11
